Sea skull nautical art work

By living near the sea i am naturally inspired by it. I love sugar skulls so i put the two together to produce my latest art works.

I got this vintage tea pot from a second hand shop & just had to do something with it.  It has been hand drawn with a ceramic pen in a native indian skull tattoo style, perfect for when you have the vicar round for a spot of tea ;0

DIY Trinket Display Shelf From Around The World

This cute trinket shelf art work is great for any collection of treasures. I wanted a map of the world so i could pin all the places i have travelled. The side images are from my three favourite places & i have used various coins & money from around the world with a vintage style.

I used a image i found on the net of a black & white english telephone box & mounted my keep sack coins

I used MDF wood from a hard ware store to make the main art work & the shelf is skirting board which i cut to length, glued & strewed into place. All the images where mounted onto the wood.

I used the English & Australian flag on my art work. The English flag because i will never forget where i came from & the Australian flag because of where i live today.

The world map i used was wrapping paper, I think a vintage style flag works much better

I'm going to add little pin points to the map showing all the places i have been

Recovered revamped recycled coffee bean bag dining chairs home furniture

Renew & recycle your old dining chairs with beautiful rustic looking coffee bean sack

Recovered DIY dining chairs with old coffee bag sacks 

 These chairs were in need of a reno. This project was for a friend & they had lots of old coffee bean sacks for me to use. I hand't used them before but had seen the coffee sack cushions in a shop once. I kept the old leather underneath which helped keep the firmness & shape of the seat & set about recovering the chair. You will need a staple gun & a large needle. The chairs were stapled underneath & hand sown at the sides. I used the thread from the coffee bags so it all blended in nicely. I just played around with the shape of the chair until i got it wright but you could make a template first if you wanted. My friends supplied the coffee bags, they were from a coffee shop i think they charged them $2 a bag.
