Recovered revamped recycled coffee bean bag dining chairs home furniture

Renew & recycle your old dining chairs with beautiful rustic looking coffee bean sack
Recovered DIY dining chairs with old coffee bag sacks

These chairs were in need of a reno. This project was for a friend & they had lots of old coffee bean sacks for me to use. I hand't used them before but had seen the coffee sack cushions in a shop once. I kept the old leather underneath which helped keep the firmness & shape of the seat & set about recovering the chair. You will need a staple gun & a large needle. The chairs were stapled underneath & hand sown at the sides. I used the thread from the coffee bags so it all blended in nicely. I just played around with the shape of the chair until i got it wright but you could make a template first if you wanted. My friends supplied the coffee bags, they were from a coffee shop i think they charged them $2 a bag.

Hand painted & wrapped with fabric sugar skull day of the dead tattoo street art mexican symbolic style furniture chairs

Mexican sugar skull tattoo art hand painted furniture

Designed by Melanie Dann, no one chair is ever the same. Each design takes on a life of its own, I work from the centre out with each design developing as i paint. I love colour & the way it makes a image pop out. Mexican sugar skull art is so vibrant i love working with this style of art work.

Mexican day of the dead cross, flower & sacred heart hand crafted plaster & clay wall art by Melanie Dann

Air dying clay hand crafted cross with heart gem detail
Different sizes of objects in the right places give it a sense of balance

This mini flower mirror was made from air drying clay from a Lincraft store. The mini mirrors were from a dollar shop.
This mexican cross was hand crafted from air drying clay, painted & then i added the artificial rose petals & old skull pin i had from a op shop

Flower mirror made from air drying clay & round craft mirror
This cross was made from a cross i brought, i used the other cross i purchased pushed it in play dough & then poured liquid plaster into the mould. Let it set & then remove the dough. I cleaned it up & painted it in a rustic style using green & copper paint

I used a faded backdrop that i hand painted & varnished the whole lot as i wanted this art work in my garden

I used bronze paint to give it a rustic feel
